Book Summary:
(Taken from Amazon)
Kate's life is far from normal. She can see auras, her boyfriend is immortal, and her powers make her a target. But now that the Demon Lord is hunting her, things are about to go from dangerous to truly deadly.
Packed with action, mind-blowing plot twists, and characters you can't get enough of, this is a fast-paced, heart-pounding read from cover to cover.
Mandy's Review:
Cover
This cover is one dark, sexy, smoldering inferno. I love it.
Plot/Main Characters
Kate and Patrick have decided to take a chance and have a relationship, which isn't often done between a Seer and a Guardian. The problem is that when a Seer dies, they are not given a chance to become a Guardian. Seers automatically go to Heaven or Hell when they die. Kate's not aware of this fact. She's under the impression that, should she die, she'd have the option of becoming an immortal Guardian and being with Patrick for forever.
Patrick, being immortal, is under the impression that Guardians cannot get sick and die. During a mission one night, though, he comes across a Guardian who is in fact dying. Flabbergasted at how this could be, Patrick reaches out to try and console the sick and dying Guardian ... much to his detriment.
In less than a week's time, Patrick is so violently ill that he is unable to be an effective Guardian. Kate is extremely upset to know that Patrick may be dying and would do anything to acquire an antidote to the virus attacking Patrick's body. Which is a good thing since the Demon Lord requires her assistance and gets her to come to him with the promise of the antidote for Patrick.
Does the Demon Lord really have the antidote? Should Kate trust the Demon Lord enough to do the requested mission? What will Patrick think about going to the Demon Lord for help?
Overall
Demons is a superbly written sequel to the first book in this trilogy, Seers. It had me laughing, angry, sad, wistful ... I absolutely adored this book and the series. I cannot wait for the final book, Guardians, to come out so I can see how it'll all end.
